Critical Thinking and Argumentation

The course introduces the main concepts and tools of critical thinking. The goal of the course is to offer basic understanding of contemporary views on the structure and scope of critical thinking and argumentation and the ways of their implementation in discussions and texts. It focuses on the problems of logical analysis and its application in the understanding and construction of arguments in different relevant contexts form everyday reasoning to scientific discourse and philosophy.

Course objectives: Learning the aim, principles and structure of critical thinking.

Results/Outcome Expected: Developing knowledge on critical thinking tools and understanding the elements of the process of argumentation.
Skills Developed: Applying critical thinking and argumentation tools in everyday, social and scientific context.
