About
ERUA 6th Annual Summit – “Consolidating Achievements, Shaping Continuity”
Dates
18 – 20 November 2026
The 2026 Annual Summit of the European Reform University Alliance, titled “ERUA 2026: Consolidating Achievements, Shaping Continuity”, will mark a pivotal moment in the life cycle of the alliance, as it enters its penultimate year of the current funding period. Hosted by New Bulgarian University in Sofia, the summit will focus on reviewing the progress of the alliance to date, reinforcing cooperation across governance bodies and work packages, and initiating strategic discussions on the post-project sustainability of ERUA. The event will serve as both a moment of reflection and a springboard for deeper institutional integration and long-term collaboration.
The three-day summit will bring together members of ERUA’s key governance structures – the Management Committee (MC), the Steering Committee (SC), and the Board of Rectors (BoR) – alongside leaders of the Work Packages (WPs) and student representatives. The agenda will feature a combination of governance meetings, coordination sessions among work packages, student-led initiatives, and cultural and social events. A central priority will be to align project results with the long-term goals of the alliance, identify effective models for institutional transformation, and discuss shared strategies for continuity beyond the project’s official end in 2027.
In addition to its strategic and operational focus, the summit will foster a sense of community and shared identity among ERUA members. NBU will host a series of cultural and social activities, providing space for informal networking and inter-university dialogue. Student involvement will be a key highlight, with students participating in governance meetings and leading dedicated sessions that showcase their perspectives and initiatives.
Programme
The draft programme outlines the main sessions and activities planned for the three-day Summit, including governance meetings, collaborative discussions, work package coordination, student-led initiatives, and networking opportunities. As preparations continue, the programme may be updated to reflect the latest developments.
We encourage all participants to consult the programme in advance to help plan their participation throughout the Summit.
