📰 The Future of Media

with Konstantin Valkov (NBU)

🗓️ 30.10.2026 | 🕐 15:30-17:00 CET

https://nbu-bg.zoom.us/j/84542212115?pwd=VzA3aNvZoajyO94IfMcX1bgdG6woXY.1

What does journalism look like when everyone has a phone in their hand and artificial intelligence can write the news in seconds? In this workshop, we’ll talk openly about where the profession is heading and where young journalists fit in. We’ll discuss why on-cite reporting remains irreplaceable and how being there in person builds a kind of trust no machine can replicate. We’ll also talk about entrepreneurship: how a single idea, blog or podcast can grow into a sustainable media project and a source of income. The workshop is open to students from different universities who write for the ERUA student magazine, and to anyone who wants to tell stories. Bring your questions, ideas and curiosity – this will be a conversation, not a lecture.

🎨 Think. Play. Design: The Art of Visual Communication

with Assistant Prof. Ivaylo Saraliyski (NBU)

🗓️ 5.11.2026 | 🕐 14:00-15:30 CET

https://nbu-bg.zoom.us/j/89529907153?pwd=psFgNHXF43JqEcjftQN2ZFPV7bbSgW.1

This lecture introduces design as a space for creativity, experimentation, and visual communication. Inspired by Bruno Munari’s philosophy, it explores how complex ideas can become clear, engaging, and original visual solutions.

Through inspiring examples and short hands-on exercises, participants will discover the relationship between art and design, the role of imagination in the creative process, and the power of simplicity as a means of communication.

The focus is on experimentation, visual thinking, and the understanding that good design begins not with a ready-made answer, but with the right question.

Open to all interested students across the ERUA universities. We look forward to seeing you there! 💙
