Call for Contributions: Enterprise Modeling for Social Impact at the 5th ERUA Digitalk

Online: Live from UAegean Campus in Lesvos | Apply now!

University alliances are increasingly expected to demonstrate concrete societal impact, yet they often face challenges in demonstrating the link between their activities and the changes they seek to achieve.

The 5th ERUA Digitalk “Enterprise Modeling for Social Impact (EM4SI)” will explore how enterprise modeling can help organisations understand the relationships between their strategic objectives, capabilities and services, and provide a basis for articulating and demonstrating their approach to social impact.

The Digitalk will take place as part of the hybrid EM4SI workshop, organised in the context of the 19th IFIP WG8.1 Working Conference on the Practice of Enterprise Modeling (PoEM 2026). Hosted by the University of the Aegean the workshop is organised under ERUA Work Package 5, as part of the ERUA Interregional Creative Knowledge Communities initiatives.

An open and participatory workshop

The EM4SI workshop will bring together researchers, practitioners and organisations interested in using modeling to understand and strengthen social impact. The programme will combine the invited 5th ERUA Digitalk with additional presentations and contributions selected through this open call.

The workshop will follow a hybrid discussion-based and participatory format, combining research presentations with practical cases and collaborative exploration.

Topics include, but are not limited to:

  • Modeling theories for social impact and societal change
  • Human factors and participatory modeling
  • Metrics, indicators and traceability frameworks for measuring social impact

Call for Contributions

We warmly welcome contributions from researchers across all ERUA regions who are interested in enterprise modeling, social impact and societal change. The call is not limited to academic research. Practitioners, university alliances, NGOs and public sector organisations are particularly encouraged to contribute if they have applied a modeling approach in practice, developed a relevant case study, or are working on a real-world social-impact challenge.

We invite you to share ongoing or planned research, practical experiences, case studies, emerging ideas or real-world challenges that can contribute to the discussion around enterprise modeling and social impact.  Your contribution does not need to present completed research. Work in progress, early-stage ideas and experiences from practice are all very welcome. We encourage contributions that can spark discussion, exchange experiences and open up new perspectives on how modeling can help organisations understand and strengthen their social impact.

Submission deadline: 31 October 2026 | Submission form

Accepted participants affiliated with an ERUA institution, who wish to participate in person, can apply for travel and accommodation funding directly through their home university’s ERUA Office.
