ERUAvision Music Contest: Vyara Raycheva wins with “Viva Diva”

7 May 2026 marked a historic day for ERUA — literally, from signing… to singing. From Brussels, where the Alliance was established as a legal entity, the spotlight moved to the stage of the Kleist Forum in Frankfurt (Oder), where the ERUAVision Music Contest “A contest for Unity” brought the Alliance community together for a celebration of original music, creativity and European cooperation.

Hosted by European University Viadrina, the contest gathered student artists from Lithuania, Germany, Spain, Italy, France and Bulgaria for a live show full of energy, emotion and shared joy. A student-led initiative developed within the ERUA community, it brought students to perform original songs on a shared stage — turning the evening into much more than a competition: a celebration of artistic expression, intercultural dialogue and the power of music to connect people across borders.

The line-up featured an inspiring group of performers from across the Alliance:

  • Yurima Ramos from the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria
  • David Rüth from European University Viadrina
  • Yigit Tellioglu, Selina Cicek and Ulpan Turniyazova from Mykolas Romeris University
  • Martin Aubague and Pierre Blocquet from Paris 8 University
  • Ruslan Zulpikarov and William Kalwani from the University of Macerata
  • Vyara Raycheva from New Bulgarian University.

Throughout the evening, the audience at the Kleist Forum, local juries across ERUA universities and viewers following the show online were invited to vote for their favourite performance. After all votes were counted, Vyara Raycheva from New Bulgarian University was announced as the winner of the first ERUAvision Music Contest with her anthem “Viva Diva”.

The atmosphere in Frankfurt (Oder) reflected exactly what ERUA stands for: openness, experimentation, collaboration and community. From the live audience to the online viewers, from the performers on stage to the teams supporting them behind the scenes, ERUAvision showed how student-led initiatives can turn creative ideas into meaningful shared European experiences.

Taking place on the same day that ERUA formally strengthened its long-term future as an Alliance, the contest became a powerful symbol of what that future can look like: diverse voices, shared stages and a community ready to grow together.
