The ERUA Travelling Seminar on “Disability and Equal Opportunities”, hosted by the University of Macerata, brought together students and scholars from the New Bulgarian University.
The week began with a warm welcome and quickly developed into a collaborative learning experience, where students and faculty worked side by side in an international and inclusive environment.
Through a multidisciplinary approach, participants explored disability from legal, clinical, and psychosocial perspectives, engaging in group work and developing digital storytelling projects based on real-life experiences.
Key moments included the visit to the University of Macerata TincTec center, showcasing innovative practices in special education, and participation in a roundtable discussion on inclusion and equal opportunities between education and the labour market.
The programme also offered opportunities to connect with the local community, including a visit to TuttIncluso, a social project promoting the employment of people with disabilities through training and inclusive work activities, and other cultural experiences highlighting shared European traditions.
The seminar concluded with student presentations inspired by remarkable figures who transformed challenges into opportunities, followed by the awarding of certificates.
An intense and inspiring week that strengthened international cooperation and reaffirmed ERUA’s commitment to inclusion and shared learning.
