University of Macerata launches LEAP and opens registration for the Beginners’ course
The University Language Centre (CLA) of the University of Macerata has officially launched LEAP – Language Enhancement for Administrative Professionals, an English language training course designed for technical, administrative and library staff (TAB).
The course has been activated as part of the University’s commitment to strengthening professional competences in an increasingly international academic environment and to supporting the objectives of the ERUA Alliance.
LEAP: English for Administrative Professionals
LEAP provides targeted English language training focused on the specific communicative needs of university administrative and library staff. The programme covers administrative terminology, written and oral communication, intercultural awareness, and the management of professional interactions in English.
Course objectives
- Develop English language and communication skills in university administration
- Strengthen the ability to understand and produce administrative texts in English
- Expand knowledge of specialised vocabulary used in administrative and library contexts
- Improve grammatical accuracy and appropriate use of language structures in professional settings
- Enhance oral communication skills for effective interaction with colleagues and international partners
- Increase awareness of cultural conventions and communication styles in international administrative environments
- Build confidence in handling requests, complaints and challenging situations in English
The course for ERUA members is offered entirely online and consists of 21 compulsory teaching hours, plus 3 hours for the final examination.
Participants who successfully complete the programme will receive an Open Badge certificate of attendance issued by the University Language Centre.
Beginners’ Course – Registration Now Open
In addition to the currently running programme, the CLA will soon activate a Beginners’ English course dedicated to staff members who wish to develop their language skills starting from a basic level.
