The University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (ULPGC), in collaboration with ERUA, will host the 4th International Conference Multilingual and Multicultural Learning: Policies and Practices (MMLPP4) on 16–17 October 2025.
The conference is organised by the international network MultiLingNet, in cooperation with the Faculty of Philology and the Department of Modern Philology, Translation and Interpreting at ULPGC. It is further supported by the European Reform University Alliance (ERUA) through its research cluster Inclusive Language Policies for English as a Medium of Education, Interculturality and Multilingualism (IlaP-EMEIM).
Following previous editions held in Prague (2019), Krakow (2021), and Yerevan (2023), the conference now comes to Gran Canaria with the aim of bringing together researchers, lecturers, and international specialists to discuss and share experiences on multilingualism, interculturality, and inclusive language policies in education.
Representing ULPGC are Professors Soraya García-Sánchez, María Esther Rodríguez Gil, Bianca M. Sandu, and Carmen Luján García, members of the ERUA IlaP-EMEIM research group, who will present the poster Inclusive Language Policies for English as a Medium of Education, Interculturality and Multilingualism. This contribution seeks to share the main objectives of the research group, the projects currently underway, high-impact publications related to its different lines of inquiry, and planned future actions.
MMLPP4 aspires to consolidate itself as a forum for dialogue and reflection, promoting more inclusive and effective approaches to multilingual and multicultural learning. It will also provide the academic community with a platform to exchange good practices, research outcomes, and innovations in language policy, thereby strengthening the shared commitment to cultural and linguistic diversity in European higher education.

ERUA y la ULPGC coorganizan el IV Congreso Internacional Multilingual and Multicultural Learning: Policies and Practices
La Universidad de Las Palmas de Gran Canaria en colaboración con ERUA acogerá los días 16 y 17 de octubre de 2025 el IV Congreso Internacional Multilingual and Multicultural Learning: Policies and Practices (MMLPP4).
El congreso está organizado por la red internacional MultiLingNet, en colaboración con la Facultad de Filología y el Departamento de Filología Moderna, Traducción e Interpretación de la ULPGC, y además cuenta con el apoyo de la alianza europea ERUA, a través de su grupo de investigación Inclusive Language Policies for English as a Medium of Education, Interculturality and Multilingualism (IlaP-EMEIM).
Tras ediciones anteriores en Praga (2019), Cracovia (2021) y Ereván (2023), el congreso llega ahora a Gran Canaria con el objetivo de reunir a investigadores, profesorado y especialistas internacionales para debatir y compartir experiencias sobre multilingüismo, interculturalidad y políticas lingüísticas inclusivas en la educación.
Desde la ULPGC participan las profesoras Soraya García-Sánchez, María Esther Rodríguez Gil, Bianca Manuela Sandu y Carmen Luján Carcía, miembros del grupo de investigación de ERUA IlaP-EMEIM con el póster Inclusive Language Policies for English as a Medium of Education, Interculturality and Multilingualism, que tiene como objetivo compartir los objetivos principales de este grupo, los proyectos que se están llevando a cabo, las publicaciones de impacto relacionadas con las distintas líneas de investigación y las futuras acciones.
El MMLPP4 busca consolidarse como un espacio de diálogo y reflexión, impulsando enfoques más inclusivos y efectivos en el aprendizaje multilingüe y multicultural. Asimismo, ofrecerá a la comunidad académica una plataforma para el intercambio de buenas prácticas, resultados de investigación e innovaciones en políticas lingüísticas, fortaleciendo el compromiso compartido con la diversidad cultural y lingüística en la educación superior europea.
