European University Viadrina invites doctoral candidates and postdoctoral researchers from all ERUA universities to two online sessions in English this November: a Coffee Talk on the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions Postdoctoral Fellowships and a one-day workshop on academic networking.
Both sessions are part of the key qualification programme of the Viadrina Center for Graduate Studies (VCGS), which opens its English-language online workshops to early career researchers across the alliance.
Coffee Talk: Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions Postdoctoral Fellowships

The MSCA Postdoctoral Fellowships support researchers shortly after their PhD in developing their own research project, with a strong focus on international mobility, research excellence and professional career development. Dr Geny Piotti, EU Consultant at Viadrina, will introduce the funding scheme and walk you through the application process. Like all Coffee Talks, the session is designed as an open discussion with plenty of time for your questions.
Academic Networking
Monday, 30 November 2026, 9 a.m.–5 p.m. CET, online
For doctoral candidates (R1) and postdocs (R2) from all disciplines
Research collaborations, visibility and career opportunities rarely emerge by chance. In this one-day workshop, participants analyse their academic and professional networks, identify relevant contacts and blind spots, and define concrete next steps. They practise entering conversations and presenting themselves and their research clearly, and develop a concise elevator pitch. A further focus lies on status, hierarchies and role expectations in academic communication, and on strategies for communicating with confidence in asymmetric situations.
