We are delighted to welcome Michalina Lorych and Bhownit Singh from European University Viadrina as newly elected members of the ERUA Student Board, recently confirmed by Viadrina’s Student Parliament. Rania Sabba joins as substitute member. Congratulations to all three!

Michalina Lorych on the Steering Committee
Alongside her Student Board mandate, Michalina has also been elected as one of the Student Board’s three representatives to the ERUA Steering Committee — the body that guides the alliance’s strategy, oversees its progress and takes decisions on key matters. She joins Javier Martín Rodríguez from the Universidad de Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, who was re-elected to the role, and Evangelos Zaftis from the University of the Aegean. Together, they will represent students at Bachelor’s, Master’s and PhD levels alongside Vice-Rectors and administrative staff.

A warm thank you to Julia and Zuzanna
As new representatives step in, we want to sincerely thank Julia Carvalho Bandeira (Université Paris 8) and Zuzanna Siwinska (SWPS University Warsaw), whose mandates on the Steering Committee have come to an end. Both have made a lasting contribution — building sustainable student representation structures, advocating for student voices in governance, and speaking up when it mattered. We are glad to keep them both in the Student Board.

Michalina brings a clear sense of direction to her dual mandate: “Understand more. Fear less. That’s how we move forward.”
Bhownit is focused on making the alliance more accessible and connected for students: “Helping students actively shape our alliance by making international opportunities more visible and accessible and by strengthening connections across ERUA campuses.”
Their engagement is also a reminder of what the ERUA Student Engagement Recognition Framework was built for: recognising student participation in alliance governance as a real and meaningful commitment.
