The University of the Aegean is pleased to announce the publication of the Proceedings of the ERUA Online Biennale “Arts & Edges” 2025, making the contributions and discussions of this unique international event openly accessible to the wider academic and artistic community.
Hosted online, by the University of the Aegean, on 28-29 November 2025, the Biennale brought together academics, researchers, artists, and social actors from across the ERUA Alliance to explore the dynamic intersections of the arts, research, and society.
Centred on the theme of the edge as a space of transition, encounter, and transformation, the Biennale fostered interdisciplinary dialogue on topics including migration and borders, environmental transition, democracy and inclusion, interculturality, and artistic practices rooted in local contexts. Over two days, participants engaged in presentations, discussions, and creative exchanges that highlighted the role of artistic research in addressing contemporary social challenges.
The event featured keynote lectures by Barbara Bolt, Professorial Fellow at the Victorian College of the Arts, University of Melbourne and a leading scholar of artistic research, and Stelarc, internationally renowned performance artist, whose contributions enriched the programme with inspiring perspectives on artistic practice and innovation.
The newly published Proceedings provide a lasting record of the Biennale’s diverse contributions and reflect ERUA’s commitment to fostering collaboration between universities, artists, researchers, and local communities across Europe.
