On 10 June, the Mykolas Romeris University (MRU) community joined the alliance-wide ERUA CleanUp initiative, bringing together students, staff, ambassadors, and partners in a shared effort to promote environmental sustainability.
The initiative was more than a clean-up activity. It provided an opportunity for participants to strengthen community ties, exchange ideas, and reflect on how sustainability can become an integral part of everyday university life. Discussions about studies, research, ongoing projects, and future plans continued while participants spent time outdoors actively contributing to environmental care.
Members of the ERUA MRU team, student ambassadors, associated partners, and representatives of the university community walked through a green area, collecting litter and highlighting the importance of collective responsibility. The activity demonstrated how small actions, taken together, can create a visible positive impact on the environment.
The initiative also brought together communities beyond the university. Students from the Ukrainian refugee school Gravitas Schola joined the ERUA effort by carrying out their own environmental clean-up activities, contributing to the shared goal of creating cleaner and more sustainable surroundings.
The ERUA CleanUp initiative once again showcased the strength of cooperation within the ERUA alliance, uniting participants around common values such as sustainability, social responsibility, inclusion, and active civic engagement.
