ERUA Digital Hackathon 2025: Hack4Impact Winners Announced at ERUA Day 2025

The University of the Aegean (UAegean) officially announced the ERUA Digital Hackathon 2025 winners during the ERUA Day 2025, bringing together students, researchers, staff, and external stakeholders in a vibrant celebration of collaboration, creativity, and innovation.

A central highlight of the ERUA Day at UAegean was the hybrid session“STEM & Arts in ERUA: The cases of the ERUAiD, Hackathon & ERUA Biennale 2025”, which showcased how interdisciplinary approaches, bridging technology, the arts, and social innovation—are shaping the future of education, research, and public-sector transformation within the Alliance.

From Ideas to Impact: ERUA Digital Hackathon 2025 – Hack4Impact

During the session, the winners of the ERUA Digital Hackathon 2025: Hack4Impact were officially announced and presented their ideas. The Hackathon, co-organised by the University of the Aegean, the North Aegean Regional Development Fund, and the European Digital Innovation Hub for Digital Governance (GR digiGOV-innoHUB), aimed to transform innovative ideas into operational digital prototypes and entrepreneurial initiatives aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Hack4Impact reflects ERUA’s commitment to:

  • fostering digital public sector reform,

  • supporting social and technological entrepreneurship, and

  • strengthening collaboration between universities, public authorities, and civil society across regions.

The announcement connected participants from different ERUA regions, underlining the Alliance’s transnational and inclusive character.

Hack4Impact 2025 Awarded Projects

The following projects were recognised for their innovative approach, societal relevance, and potential for real-world impact:

Ana Díaz Hernández, Silvana Rodríguez Anselmo, and collaborators from ULPGC

Each winning team/ individual demonstrated how digital innovation, inclusive design, and interdisciplinary thinking can contribute to more effective governance, education, and sustainable development across Europe.

Strengthening ERUA’s Innovation Ecosystem

The ERUA Day session highlighted how initiatives such as ERUAiD, Hack4Impact, and the ERUA Biennale 2025 form a coherent innovation ecosystem within the Alliance, connecting STEM, arts, entrepreneurship, and societal challenges.

The awarded Hack4Impact projects will continue their journey beyond the Hackathon through:

  • visibility within ERUA networks,

  • connections to incubators, EU pilot programmes, and regional support mechanisms, and

  • showcasing opportunities, including upcoming ERUA events and summits.

By celebrating the Hack4Impact winners during the ERUA Day 2025, the University of the Aegean reaffirmed its active role in advancing ERUA’s mission: building bridges between knowledge, creativity, and impact across Europe.
