6 June 2025, Sofia

New Bulgarian University proudly hosted the Summer School on Marketing, which was also an accompanying event of the international scientific conference “The Economy of the 21st Century: Economic Innovations and Sustainable Growth.” Both events offered a vibrant platform for academic exchange, innovation, and collaboration among students, researchers, and professionals from across Europe.

The Summer School challenged participants to work in multinational teams on a real-life business case, provided by Nestlé. The case demanded strategic insight, creativity, and strong presentation skills. Throughout the day, the teams developed and defended their marketing strategies before a panel of judges and experts.

Following a dynamic and competitive round of presentations, three teams stood out:

  • First Place: Awarded to the team from Macerata University, Italy, for their strategic consistency, stylish presentation, and a sustainable approach to innovation.
  • Second Place: Earned by a joint team from Macerata University and SWPS University, recognized for their strong user orientation, practical solutions, and remarkable team adaptability, especially given the remote participation of one member.
  • Third Place: Claimed by the team from New Bulgarian University, praised for their originality, logical consistency, and alignment with current market trends.

Beyond the competition, the Summer School created a space for students to apply their knowledge in real-world scenarios, build international networks, and experience the dynamics of teamwork in a global, multicultural setting.

Overall the international conference “The Economy of the 21st Century: Economic Innovations and Sustainable Growth”—hosted by New Bulgarian University—served as a dynamic forum for dialogue, research exchange, and cross-sector collaboration. A series of panel sessions and interactive workshops provided a platform for scholars, practitioners, and students to present their research, explore theoretical frameworks, and share practical strategies aimed at addressing the complex economic challenges of today.

The conference addressed a range of critical topics, including innovation in economic policy, public policies in highly-open economies, international trade and finance, and enhancing international competitiveness, in a continuation of ERUA main vison and mission.
