The Youth Forum for Action on Sustainability hosted 33 presentations at the institutional headquarters of the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria in the framework of ERUA.
On 20 and 21 of May, the institutional headquarters of the ULPGC hosted, two conferences on sustainability and action against climate change, organised within the framework of the European alliance ERUA, which brings together eight universities on the continent, including the ULPGC. The conferences were a natural conclusion of the series of lectures hosted by each one of the Universities, members of ERUA, under the framework of the Youth Forum for Action on Climate change, an initiative driven exclusively by the students of ERUA.
During the two days in Las Palmas more than 60 European students from universities in Germany, France, Italy, the Netherlands, Bulgaria, Lithuania, Poland and Greece have participated. The opening took place on the 20th of May, in the presence of the Rector of the ULPGC Lluís Serra and the Vice-Rector for Internationalisation and Cooperation, Jin Taira.
A total of 33 presentations addressed various issues related to the environment, from energy policies to the impact of fashion and textile waste, as well as the management of marine protected areas, biodiversity, decarbonisation and the role of higher education, among others. 18 experts from the ULPGC will joined others from ERUA member universities, as well as from other universities such as the University of Groningen, the University of A Coruña, the West University of Timisoara and the Saxion University of Applied Sciences.

This meeting has been organised by ULPGC students as part of ERUA work package number 7.
