Last week, members of the ERUA student board & student engagement team joined the 1st International Conference on Student Participation in Spain by @ispn.info!
The students took part in diverse workshops and networking events.
Student Board members Alexandra Petrova, Zuzanna Siwinska and Samuel Taviro presented the work of the ERUA Student Engagement team and Student Board, while Muhammad Ismail, member of the student engagement team, contributed a critical research-based analysis on the role of students in higher education.
The student engagement team leader, Niki Kasis highlighted the need for critical reflection and theoretical consideration on the potentials and dangers of well-meaning student empowerment.
ERUA Student Ambassador Paula Herrera Martín and academic Christin Barbarino joined the team!
They all left the conference with rich impressions and new friends – inspired by the keynote speech of Manja Klemenčič (Harvard) and inputs from representatives of various international student organizations, such as @globalstudentforum, @esu.online, as well as European University Alliances and advocates for student’s rights and participation.
