ERUA Training Plan for Teachers and Research Staff (2024-2027)

This ERUA collaborative initiative is offered across the eight universities within the ERUA consortium: Université Paris 8, University of the Aegean, Universidad de Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Mykolas Romeris University, New Bulgarian University, SWPS University, University of Macerata, and Europa-Universität Viadrina Frankfurt (Oder). The programme is focusing on innovative pedagogy in higher education, with specific work related to virtual educational materials and the Academic Innovation Laboratory.

Programme Overview:

As outlined in the attached document, the first semester of the 2024-2025 academic year offers a range of teaching training activities for ERUA academics and PhD candidates. The Programme is part of the Postgraduate Diploma in English as a Medium of Instruction (EMI & ESP), Multimodal Communication, and Technologies. This programme is designed to enhance teaching methodologies within an EMI framework in higher education, contributing to the internationalisation of classrooms. It is especially valuable for those teaching or aspiring to teach content subjects in English.

Course Offerings for the First Semester

Participants can enroll in the following courses – description provided in the attached document.:

  • Training for C1/C2 in English
  • Multimodality and Interaction in the Classroom
  • The Varieties of the English Language and Cultures
  • Communication in English in a Cross-Cultural Context
  • Can you Speak “Real English”? Updating and Upgrading Your Bilingual Classroom Language
  • Upon successful completion, participants will receive a Postgraduate Diploma.

 

Enrolment Information:

Priority will be given to full-time and part-time academic staff, followed by PhD candidates from the ERUA consortium, on a first-come, first-served basis.

Note: Seats are limited per university, and a waiting list will be created.
