Renowned for its academic excellence, it is recognized among the nation’s top universities, particularly in disciplines such as Humanities, Social Sciences, Law, Political Science, Education, and Cultural Heritage Studies.

Founded in 1290, the University of Macerata is one of Italy’s oldest universities. Located in the historic city of Macerata, in the heart of Italy’s Marche region, UniMc offers a rich cultural and academic environment, blending centuries of tradition with modern educational practices. Over the centuries, it has consistently fostered intellectual growth and academic leadership.

The “Giacomo Leopardi” School of Advanced Studies offers exceptional multidisciplinary programmes, attracting bright, talented students eager to engage in rigorous academic exploration. Additionally, the University plays a leading role in promoting Chinese language and culture through its Confucius Institute, strengthening ties between Italy and China.

At the heart of the University of Macerata is a commitment to delivering high-quality education while fostering an environment that encourages research, innovation, and collaboration. We value creativity, critical thinking, and respect for diverse perspectives, and believe these qualities are essential for personal and societal progress. Through our academic programs and research efforts, we strive to make meaningful contributions to the cultural and socio-economic development of both our local community and the wider world.
