Language Courses

The NBU Bulgarian Language Online Course is a 30-hour course covering the Bulgarian A1+ level of the European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). It is designed for university students, academic and non-academic staff with no previous knowledge of the Bulgarian language or of the Bulgarian Cyrillic alphabet.
The course will be conducted in a Moodle NBU virtual classroom — where students will be given access to classes with lecturers twice a week over a period of 8 weeks and to a variety of resources for group and individual work: short videos, simple dialogues and texts, as well as a large number quizzes helping students check their progress at each step.
Along with basic lexis and structure directed at the acquisition of survival communicative skills, the course offers interesting information on academic life in Bulgaria, on the geography, nature and culture of Bulgaria.
