Description of specific research project (c. 250 words)

Mediation within the EU is still an unexploited tool towards harmonious development of socially sustainable societies and for the promotion of long-lasting and future-oriented solutions to conflicts. At a time of technological breakthroughs, particularly in the area of artificial intelligence, the deliberate digitalisation of mediation may become a catalyst for promoting the peaceful dispute resolution in various social contexts.

The research would focus on exploring the potential of AI in improving the accessibility of mediation as a better access to justice methos and its processes leveraging the advantages of modern technologies and minimising the challenges they impose. As well as developing practical conflict resolution skills through AI-based platforms by developing a distance learning (conflict simulation) systems to develop practical conflict resolution skills.
